Frequently asked questions

Do my generated QR codes expire?

No. QR codes generated here are static — they encode the data directly and will work forever, with no tracking or expiry.

Can I use these QR codes commercially?

Yes. There's no licensing or attribution required. Use them on business cards, posters, packaging, or any commercial product.

What's the difference between error-correction levels?

Higher levels (Q, H) add redundancy so the code still scans if partly damaged or covered by a logo. Use H if you'll overlay a logo.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

Check contrast — dark code on a light background works best. Avoid inverting colors and ensure the printed size is at least 2×2 cm.

Can I generate a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Yes — pick the Wi-Fi preset, enter the SSID and password, and the code lets any phone connect by scanning, no typing required.

What size should I print my QR code?

Rule of thumb: scan distance ÷ 10. For a 1 m scan distance, print at least 10 × 10 cm. Smaller codes need higher contrast and error correction.

Static vs dynamic QR codes — what's the difference?

Static codes (what we generate) embed the data directly and never change. Dynamic codes redirect through a server so the destination can be edited later, but they require a paid service.

Can I add a logo to the center of my QR code?

Yes — set error correction to H (30%), then overlay your logo in any image editor. Keep the logo under 25% of the code's area.

Will my QR code work on iPhone and Android cameras?

Yes. All modern phone cameras (iOS 11+ and Android 9+) scan QR codes natively without a separate app.

Should I download my QR code as PNG or SVG?

Use SVG for print and large displays — it scales infinitely. Use PNG for digital use, social media, or anywhere SVG isn't supported.

Can I track scans of my QR code?

Static codes can't be tracked directly, but you can encode a UTM-tagged URL and track visits in Google Analytics or your URL shortener.

Are QR codes safe to use?

QR codes themselves are safe — they're just encoded text. The risk is what they link to, so always preview the URL before printing or sharing.

What's the maximum amount of data a QR code can hold?

Up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 7,089 digits, but smaller payloads (URLs under 60 characters) scan faster and look cleaner.

Can I generate a QR code that opens an app?

Yes — use a deep link URL (e.g. yourapp://) or a universal link that falls back to your app store listing if the app isn't installed.

Why does my QR code look pixelated?

Increase the output size before downloading, or pick SVG. Never upscale a small PNG — regenerate at the larger size instead.
